Dunfermline 1 : 1 Stirling Albion - Stirling stop the rot

Posted Sunday, March 15, 2015 by PA

Stirling ended their run of seven straight defeats in Scottish League One with a creditable 1-1 draw at Dunfermline.

They looked on course for a surprise win when Gordon Smith put them ahead in the 71st minute but Andy Geggan quickly equalised to ensure the spoils were shared.

Stirling made a bright start as Willie Robertson's 20-yard shot was saved by Ryan Scully and the Dunfermline goalkeeper also kept out Lewis Coult's header while Michael Moffat's shot hit the top of the crossbar at the other end.

The visitors went ahead when another Coult header came back off the crossbar and Smith converted from close range but Geggan headed the leveller from Alex Whittle's cross when he was left unmarked at the far post.
