Forfar Athletic vs Stranraer preview - Malcolm misses crunch clash

Forfar will be without Stuart Malcolm for the visit of fellow title hopefuls Stranraer.

Malcolm begins a four-match ban following his misdemeanors in the midweek defeat to Peterhead.

Everyone else in the Loons squad is available to manager Dick Campbell, who is promising changes in the wake of the loss that cost his side joint leadership of League 1.

Campbell said: "We prepared for the game really well and we started the game really well but we then fell out of things. Nevermind topping the table, we would have taken a major step towards the play-offs if we had won against Peterhead.

"There will be changes as a result, especially as Stranraer are a really good side."

Stranraer have benefitted from their game with Stirling being called off last Saturday as the break has allowed Scott Rumsby, Frank McKeown and Daniel Stoney to return to full fitness.

As a result, the Blues have a full squad as they look to reclaim top spot with manager Stephen Aitken saying: "Forfar may have lost in midweek but I saw them deservedly defeat Morton last Saturday so I know how good they can be.

"Dick Campbell is a wise old fox of a manager and I am sure he will be looking to surprise us with something however we are determined to get back into top spot."
