Brechin vs Peterhead preview - Strachan sits out City test

Peterhead will be without Ryan Strachan when they host a Brechin side going for a new club record of 18 league games undefeated.

Strachan is suspended and he may be joined in the stands by Cammy Kerr, who is a doubt after suffering an ankle injury in the midweek win over Forfar.

"Brechin have done tremendously well in a league containing three full-time teams to go unbeaten for as long as they have," said Peterhead manager Jim McInally.

"However, we will be going all out to win this game for our own purposes. It will not be easy but if we can win it then we are closing in on the sides holding top-four places at the moment."

Paul McLean and Craig Molloy are both suspended as Brechin attempt to create history at Balmoor.

Euan McNeil and Gary Fusco look set to deputise with Callum Tapping likely to be on the bench as he continues his comeback after knee surgery.

Brechin boss Ray McKinnon said: "It would be a terrific achievement to go 18 games undefeated in a very competitive league, but Peterhead will make it extremely difficult for us to do so.

"They had a tremendous result in midweek when they beat Forfar and will be looking to do the same again. This will be a really tough game."
