Colchester United vs Crawley Town preview - Healey hopes to make Crawley clash

Colchester striker Rhys Healey is hoping to overcome an ankle injury in time to return to the squad for the home game against Crawley.

Healey, on loan from Cardiff, missed last week's defeat at Rochdale after sustaining the injury in training, but could be back in contention.

Teenage midfielder Tom Lapslie has been absent for three games due to a similar problem and will be assessed, while George Moncur and Macauley Bonne are pushing for recalls after being dropped to the bench last week.

The U's, level on points with fellow relegation strugglers Crawley and three from safety in 22nd place, have lost their last three matches.

Midfielder Marvin Elliott is available again for Crawley.

Elliott has returned to fitness after missing Town's last four games with a hamstring problem.

But boss Dean Saunders is still without defenders Dean Leacock (groin) and Lanre Oyebanjo (hamstring) as well as midfield duo Conor Henderson (ankle) and Josh Simpson (hamstring) .

Saunders could opt to stick with the side which ran leaders Bristol City close before going down to a 2-1 defeat last weekend.
