Ross should make Peterhead return

Peterhead manager Jim McInally is hoping to have defender Scott Ross available to face Forfar at Balmoor after illness kept him out of their 2-1 defeat to Stenhousemuir at the weekend.

Dean Cowie is likely to miss out again with a knee injury and Nicky Riley is struggling after suffering a knock at Ochilview.

McInally said: "Scott called off on Saturday morning but it looks like he could return for this one.

"Our recent performances have been better than our results. Hopefully we can get a result and a performance against a strong Forfar side who enjoyed a terrific result against Morton at the weekend."

The Loons can pull level with the Greenock side they defeated 2-0 on Saturday with a win at Balmoor and manager Dick Campbell has a full squad to choose from to help them in their quest.

Campbell is taking nothing for granted and said: "We did really well at Cappielow but this league is fiercely competitive and if our performance levels drop even slightly then we could struggle at Peterhead.

"There are nine games to go and it would be terrific to enter the run-in with a win in this game. But they are not out of the promotion chase yet and this will be a really hard game."
