Stenhousemuir moved out of the bottom two in League One after recording back-to-back victories with a 2-1 win at home to Peterhead.
The Warriors ended an eight-game winless streak in midweek and they made the perfect start here six minutes in when Colin McMenamin found the back of the net with a curling left-footed finish.
James Stevenson looked to hit back for the visitors with a vicious effort which whistled over the top of the crossbar and the same player hit the post before the scores were levelled.
Cammy Kerr found James Redman and the midfielder finished with aplomb on the stroke of half-time.
However, the hosts regained a lead they would not relinquish 11 minutes into the second period, Josh Watt rounding off a move which featured the instrumental Paul McMullan.
Substitute Gregor Fotheringham hit the woodwork late on for the Warriors, who moved above Ayr with the win.
