Brechin extended their unbeaten run to 17 games in Scottish League One after a goalless draw with Airdrieonians at Glebe Park.
The home side spurned a long list of chances but could not break the resolve of Airdrieonians, who have gone seven games unbeaten.
Defender Gerard McLauchlan went close with two headers in the space of 10 seconds for Brechin early in the first half and midfield pair Andrew Jackson and Craig Molloy were off target with shots for the hosts when well placed inside the penalty area.
Airdrieonians defender Jamie Bain headed just over the crossbar before the break and Molloy lashed another effort beyond the woodwork as the first half ended goalless.
McLauchlan placed another header over the crossbar early in the second period and Brechin midfielder Robert Barr was twice wayward with shots on goal, while Airdrieonians forward James Lister pulled his effort wide in the 61st minute.
Home midfielder Alan Trouten, twice, and Jackson again squandered half-chances and Colin Hamilton headed wide as Brechin pressed for the breakthrough but Airdrieonians held on.
