Cheltenham Town 1 : 1 Mansfield Town - Kee opens door for Stags

Substitute Billy Kee rescued a point for Mansfield in a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Cheltenham.

The first half at Whaddon Road was devoid of goalmouth action, but the Stags went closest to opening the scoring in the 28th minute.

A cross from Lee Beevers was nodded against the crossbar by Junior Brown with the loose ball falling to Simon Heslop, but his effort was well blocked by Troy Brown.

Cheltenham's only attempt of the first period was a shot from Wes Burns which rolled harmlessly wide.

But Burns was celebrating the third goal of his loan stint from Bristol City two minutes into the second half.

A long throw from Craig Braham-Barrett was flicked on by Mathieu Manset and Burns controlled it, swivelled and finished past Lenny Pidgeley.

The lead lasted for 21 minutes and it was Kee who levelled emphatically after a fine pass from Reggie Lambe.
