Deportivo La Coruna vs Sevilla preview - Bacca demands strong away display

Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca believes his side must win at Deportivo La Coruna if they are to stay in the race for the fourth Champions League spot.

A goalless draw at home to Atletico Madrid saw Unai Emery's men slip seven points behind Valencia, although they are still the only team in the Primera Division to be unbeaten at home.

However, Sevilla have lost seven of their 12 away games and Bacca urged his side to improve their form on the road, starting at Riazor.

"We are very hopeful of getting in the Champions League, we have to think big, so we have to think about the Champions League, and therefore we have to win our away matches. You have to win these types of games," he told the club's official website.

Sevilla collected a rare clean sheet in an impressive performance against Atletico and Bacca is hoping for more defensive solidity against Deportivo, while also hoping they can make the most of their chances.

"Even though we've been scoring one or two goals in most of our games, we've also been conceding a lot of goals, but we are improving, because against Atletico, a very strong team with a lot of power up front, we did very well. Now we have to do the same in La Coruna and win," said the Colombian.

"It won't be easy because Deportivo are a side in ascendance, but I think that we are in good shape, we are confident and very motivated."

Deportivo are still fighting to avoid relegation and are three points above the relegation zone, but have taken eight points from their last six games.

The Galicians were thrashed 4-1 by Sevilla earlier in the season and midfielder Jose Rodriguez is determined for his side to produce a better display at Riazor.

"Sevilla are one of the best teams in the league and we gave our worst performance of the season at their place," he told a press conference.

"Now our only objective is to beat Sevilla, our coach has made it clear to us that that's what we need to do. We are playing well, but we need a victory."

Sevilla are set to welcome back defender Nico Pareja and forward Iago Aspas from injury but are still without goalkeeper Beto and midfielder Daniel Carrico.

Deportivo are still missing Ivan Cavaleiro, Helder Postiga, Toche and Salomao, but are boosted by the return of defender Albert Lopo from suspension.
