Cheltenham Town vs Mansfield Town preview - Manset set for Robins return

Mathieu Manset could return to Cheltenham's line-up against Mansfield after a damaging defeat to Carlisle.

The deadline-day signing has been a bit-part player since his move but boss Russell Milton said he had been impressed with recent improvements by the striker.

New arrivals Matt Sparrow, Pablo Mills and Shaun Harrad will again need to be monitored as they work towards full fitness, but the trio are expected to recover from their midweek exertions.

With a full squad to choose from, Milton may consider bringing in midfielder Jordan Wynter who impressed in a brief cameo against Carlisle, although the manager has hinted he wants to keep a settled line-up.

Mansfield have no new problems as they chase a third straight win which would put 10 points between themselves and the relegation zone.

On-loan Newport goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley was ineligible against his parent club in midweek and it seems the 31-year-old will be reinstated to the starting line-up in place of Swiss stopper Sascha Struder.

The Stags' injury problems appear to be behind them now and manager Adam Murray has plenty of options available should he wish to make further changes, with Ritchie Sutton, Matt Rhead, Rakish Bingham, Ricky Ravenhill, Reggie Lambe, Jack Thomas and Vadaine Oliver all pushing for recalls.

Liam Hearn, Luke Jones and Matty Blair remain long-term absentees for Mansfield, who go into the game seven points ahead of second-bottom Cheltenham.
