Fleetwood Town vs Scunthorpe United preview - Two banned for Fleetwood

Posted Tuesday, March 03, 2015 by PA

Fleetwood will be missing two players through suspension when they host Scunthorpe at Highbury.

Full-back Stephen Crainey was already out due to a red card picked up in the win over Notts County so Adam Chicksen, brought in on loan from Brighton last week, looks set to make his home bow on the left side of the Cod Army's defence.

Crainey will be joined on the sidelines by midfielder Antoni Sarcevic, who was sent off before half-time at Chesterfield on Saturday, with youngster Nick Haughton the most obvious replacement for him.

Boss Graham Alexander, who was also sent to the stands in the weekend's loss, remains without full-back Danny Andrew (knee) and striker Jamille Matt (leg).

Scunthorpe's new loan signing Conor Townsend is hoping to retain his place in the starting line-up, but Marcus Williams could return to contention.

Townsend made his debut in Saturday's home draw against Yeovil in place of Williams, who sustained a back injury in last week's defeat to Barnsley.

Skipper Neal Bishop serves the final game of his two-match ban so George Evans and Sean McAllister will be vying for a starting place.

Manager Mark Robins must decide whether to stick with fit-again Alex Davey (ankle) or recall Andrew Boyce at the heart of defence as the Iron chase their first league win in four matches.
