Leaders Stranraer took full advantage of Gregor Buchanan's red card to thrash Dunfermline 5-1.

The game was level at 1-1 when Buchanan was dismissed for a stamp on Jamie Longworth, and the home side did not pass up their one-man advantage for the final 61 minutes.

Grant Gallagher, on his 200th Stranraer appearance, opened the scoring after 10 minutes, finishing off a well-worked move from close range.

Andy Geggan levelled for the visitors by heading in Kyle McAusland's 26th-minute free-kick before Buchanan was sent off soon after.

Stranraer took full advantage with Chris Aitken curling home within two minutes and William Gibson slotting in from the edge of the area just before half-time.

Longworth added his name to the scoresheet four minutes after the break, poking home following Ryan Scully's save from Gallagher, before Jon McShane tapped in from Gallagher's cross with seven minutes left.
