Chievo vs AC Milan preview - Milan looking to improve away form

AC Milan's hunt for a long overdue win away from home continues as they prepare to face Chievo in Verona on Saturday.

The Rossoneri have not won on the road in Serie A since beating Hellas in Verona on October 19.

With just four points - all from draws - collected away from Milan this season, Filippo Inzaghi's men have had to rely on home comfort to remain in the top half of the standings.

Last weekend's 2-0 triumph over Cesena was Milan's eighth win of the campaign and lifted the Rossoneri to ninth position.

"We have a duty to win," AC Milan striker Mattia Destro told his club's official website. "We need to give continuity to our results.

"It would be important to open a good run of results. The victory over Cesena has given us confidence.

"From now on until the end of the season, we face hard games. We need to win as many games as possible, starting with the match at Chievo."

Milan have not beaten Chievo at the Bentegodi stadium since March 2013 and are without nine players through injury, including defender Adil Rami, who sustained a calf problem against Cesena.

Chievo won at Parma and against Sampdoria earlier this month before falling to a 3-0 defeat at Empoli last weekend.

The result in Tuscany dropped Chievo to 16th position, just four points clear of the drop zone.

Chievo coach Rolando Maran was disappointed with his team's display against Empoli and expects an immediate reaction from his players on Saturday.

"We lacked focus and Empoli deserved the victory," Maran said. "Now we must turn the page and return to work hard, as we always do.

"We cannot throw away the good work we have done in recent weeks.

"I'm sure my players will hand a better performance against Milan."

Chievo are without midfielder Ruben Botta, who is suspended.
