Wycombe Wanderers vs Stevenage Borough preview - Pierre out for Chairboys

Wycombe will be without Aaron Pierre when they host Stevenage.

The centre-back opened the scoring in last weekend's 3-2 win at Carlisle before picking up his 10th yellow card of the campaign which will now sideline him for their home clash with Boro and Tuesday night's Tranmere clash.

Better news for Gareth Ainsworth is the form of his strikeforce. Paul Hayes and Matt McClure's partnership blossomed last weekend and the pair look certain to get the nod from the start against Graham Westley's side.

That Carlisle win means Wycombe have lost just two league games since November.

Simon Walton should be given the green light to feature when Stevenage make the trip.

The midfielder was in fine form as Graham Westley's men won 4-2 against Southend last week despite wearing a head bandage after suffering an injury in the first half of the match, a problem that is unlikely to rule him out.

Young substitute Ben Kennedy played a crucial role in that comeback victory have stepped off the bench and the winger could be in line for a start at Adams Park.

But Calvin Zola has not trained this week due to injury and is a doubt while Ronnie Henry's lack of match fitness could count against him. David McAllister (groin) and Jon Ashton (ankle) will be assessed.
