Hellas Verona vs AS Roma preview - Garcia demands goal glut in Verona

Roma are facing a must-win game at Hellas Verona on Sunday as they strive to remain in the Serie A title race.

The Giallorossi, who host reigning champions and current leaders Juventus next week, have won just one of their last six league games and are seven points behind the Old Lady.

Roma coach Rudi Garcia believes a lack of goalscoring has been his team's biggest problem and that was evident in Thursday's 1-1 home draw with Feyenoord in the Europa League.

The Eternal City club have not hit the back of the net more than twice in a game since November.

"We are disappointed to have drawn against Feyenoord," Garcia told the Italian press. "We could have and should have won this game considering the chances we had.

"We are struggling to score goals and make the most of our chances.

"But we can't cry about it, we must move on.

"We have a game on Sunday and we have to return home with three points.

"I am convinced we will succeed."

Garcia is without seven injured players but hopes to recover his team's leading scorer Adem Ljajic in time for Sunday's match.

Ljajic, who has scored eight goals and set up two more in 21 league appearances, missed the Feyenoord clash with a rib injury.

Roma can expect a battle against a Hellas side who are desperate to end a dismal run of form.

Last weekend's 5-2 loss at Genoa was a fourth defeat in their last five league games and dropped the Verona outfit to 16th place.

"We need to change this trend or we risk relegation," Hellas defender Vangelis Moras said. "The only ones to blame for this negative spell is us, the players, and not our coach Andrea Mandorlini."

Hellas will have to show a drastic improvement at the defensive end of the pitch with Mandorlini's men having conceded 14 goals in their last five league games.
