Lyonnais vs Nantes preview - No revenge mission for Fournier

Lyon coach Hubert Fournier insists he is not out for revenge against Nantes on Sunday, just three points.

Fournier's table-topping side were surprisingly dumped out of the Coupe de France by Nantes last month, going down 3-2 thanks to Vincent Bessat's hat-trick.

Even more surprisingly, Lyon had taken an early lead through Alexandre Lacazette in that match - a fact Fournier believes invited an element of complacency.

But when hostilities resume he is not interested in putting that record straight, instead focusing on ending a run of three consecutive draws.

"There is no revenge to be had," he said.

"We have reviewed the cup game. Nantes took advantage of our shortcomings... and we have learned.

"There was perhaps a bit of complacency after our quick opening goal. Their team is dangerous and with quality players.

"As the leader there is always an obligation to get results and this is especially so after three draws, added to which we play at home."

Lyon are likely to be without Christophe Jallet, Arnold Mvuemba, Gueida Fofana and Clement Grenier but Lacazatte will be fit to play some part and Yassine Benzia could also return.

Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout has not forgotten the attitude that helped his side upset Lyon in the cup and wants more of the same this weekend.

Les Canaris have not won since then, losing three and drawing two.

But Veretout said: "In the Coupe de France everyone had us to lose. It was a surprise and why not do it again?

"We've go to do something. We all had the idea of winning together, just to qualify. We were at 200 per cent.

"We have worked hard this week to make a good match on Sunday."
