Lens vs Lorient preview - Dupraz demands another victory

Evian coach Pascal Dupraz has urged his team to build on their 2-0 victory at Lens by taking another step towards Ligue 1 survival against Lorient.

ETG are two points adrift of safety and know that victory would see them leapfrog Saturday's opponents.

"It was an important match at Lens, but there are 13 games left," Dupraz said at a pre-match press conference.

"The aim is to close in on 40 points without looking at the results of the other teams and we'll see where we are after that.

"The players' attitude against Lens was remarkable. They dominated and defended by going forward.

"We knew that the team that opened the scoring would be in a good position and we had the luck and the talent to do that.

"I was a tricky match right to the end, because Lens never give up. They have shown that many times, and you are always worried they will come back into it.

"What was good was that we approached the game positively right from the off."

Two points separate Lorient from the bottom three and coach Sylvain Ripoll has demanded an improvement following the 1-1 draw with Lyon.

"Despite all the positives we showed in the game, there's a bit of a mixed feeling. It's frustrating that we couldn't get the win," he said.

"However, on the whole, I'm very proud of my team. I'm very proud of their attitude, their frame of mind and what they produced despite a tough end to the match."
