Peterhead vs Ayr United preview - McAllister blow for Peterhead

Peterhead will be without Rory McAllister when Ayr United visit as the striker is serving the second game of a two-match ban.

Dean Cowie is ruled out with a knee injury, Jamie Stevenson is rated as extremely doubtful by manager Jim McInally due to a hamstring problem and Ross Smith is struggling with a poisoned toe.

Steven Noble is available after missing out on the 2-0 defeat from Stranraer last weekend due to family commitments.

McInally said: "We did not have an attacking edge last Saturday so despite having plenty of possession we never threatened Stranraer enough.

"Hopefully we can show that edge against Ayr."

Ayr have signed defender Scott McKenna on loan from Aberdeen and he has gone straight into manager Ian McCall's plans for their trip to Balmoor.

Injuries continue to keep Martyn Campbell (knee) and Peter Murphy (back) out of action with Alan Forrest a doubt due to illness.

The Honest Men were boosted by their first success under McCall when they defeated Stirling last weekend and the Somerset Park boss said: "It was a great win but the important thing now is to build on it.

"It will be tough up at Peterhead, however we are looking more of a threat going forward now and that is good to see."
