Guingamp 2 - 1 Dynamo Kyiv - Guingamp down nine-man Dynamo

Guingamp capitalised on five minutes of madness to recover from behind and beat nine-man Dynamo Kiev 2-1 at the Stade du Roudourou.

The club from the Ukraine capital took the lead through Miguel Veloso midway through the first half and looked comfortable heading towards half-time in the first leg of the Europa League last 32 tie.

When Andriy Yarmolenko was sent off in the 39th minute Dynamo saw no reason to panic but Younes Belhanda gave them just cause by earning his marching orders only four minutes after coming off the bench.

Guingamp steadily wore their visitors down following the restart and Claudio Beauvue grabbed an overdue equaliser before substitute Moustapha Diallo notched the winner with 15 minutes remaining.

The Ligue 1 outfit had seemed a little subdued after kick-off and Dynamo were soon able to make up the space they needed to open the scoring.

In the 20th minute Artem Kravets supplied the pass from the right wing that Veloso confidently tucked away.

The Ukrainians pushed on and Guingamp goalkeeper Jonas Lossl did brilliantly to tip over a fierce curler from Yarmolenko in the 35th minute.

Chaos ensued before the break, with one Dynamo player entering the fray before leaving only four minutes later.

First Yarmolenko was dismissed for a professional foul on Younousse Sankhare. Then Serhiy Sydorchuk picked up an injury that necessitated his replacement by Belhanda.

The former Montpellier man would not reach half-time, however, as he saw red for grappling with Lionel Mathis.

Despite their lead, Kiev would return to the pitch a little fearful given they were suddenly down to nine men and Guingamp decided to take advantage.

Olexandr Shovkovskiy fumbled a Lars Jacobsen effort as the French side poured forward and Beauvue should have scored with a close-range header.

Beauvue was back with another near miss in the 57th minute and Jeremy Pied drilled just wide of the mark shortly before the hour.

Shovkovskiy got low to deny Dorian Leveque as Guingamp continued to toil in vain, but they would make the breakthrough in the 72nd minute.

Thibault Giresse stole down the left flank before picking out Beauvue in the box. The previously-frustrated midfielder broke Shovkovskiy's valiant resistance with a well-aimed header.

Three minutes later, Guingamp took the lead with another header.

Pied swung in the corner that met Diallo in the six-yard box and the Senegalese could not miss.

Diallo fancied a quickfire second but could not find the target in the 78th minute, while substitute Sylvain Marveaux blasted past a post moments later.

In the end the double salvo proved enough to secure Guingamp a one-goal advantage ahead of their long trip east.
