Scunthorpe United vs Chesterfield preview - Iron hopeful on duo

Scunthorpe skipper Neal Bishop and midfielder Isaiah Osbourne are both expected to be fit for the home game against Chesterfield.

Midfielder Bishop was withdrawn late on in Saturday's home win against Swindon as a precaution due to a knock, while Osbourne has been nursing a slight knee problem.

Boss Mark Robins has no other major injury or suspension problems but will still be without striker Gary McSheffrey, who sits out the second game of a two-match ban after reaching 10 yellow cards.

George Evans, on loan from Manchester City, and striker Kevin van Veen both made their first starts for the club against Swindon and will be hoping to retain their places.

Chesterfield boss Paul Cook has vowed to make changes after a below-par performance in the defeat to Leyton Orient.

One change is enforced with Ian Evatt suffering from a bout of concussion from the weekend but Sam Hird makes a timely return from suspension to step in at centre-half.

Midfielder Jimmy Ryan will be fit despite coming off against the O's but winger Gary Roberts (hamstring) remains out. However, there is a chance Roberts will be back in the squad for the trip to Rochdale on Saturday.

With Cook set to freshen things up, the likes of Daniel Jones, Ritchie Humphreys, Ollie Banks, Mani Dieseruvwe and Byron Harrison will come into contention for starting places.
