Stranraer moved four points clear at the top of League One thanks to a 2-0 win over Peterhead at Stair Park.

William Gibson went close for the home side, but his effort was parried by Graeme Smith in a cagey opening.

Jamie Longworth broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark, heading in from close range.

Scott Ross almost drew Peterhead level with a fierce right-footed shot but he failed to get his effort on target.

Jon McShane doubled Stranraer's lead immediately after the break, tapping in after Grant Gallagher's initial shot was saved.

The home side have only lost twice in their last 10 games and Gibson almost grabbed a third, but his effort was saved Smith.
