Bottom side Stirling are again without Steven Doris and Graham Weir for their vital clash with fellow strugglers Ayr.
The attacking duo have stomach muscle injuries while Darren Smith also misses out with a knee problem.
Assistant boss Martyn Corrigan said: "We need to turn improved performances into points. This is a big game in our season and if we win and drag ourselves closer to Ayr the players will have an extra level of belief that we can go on and climb the table throughout the rest of the season."
United will be mising Martyn Campbell, who has a knee injury, while Brian Gilmour serves a ban.
The Honest Men are looking for their first win under manager Ian McCall.
He said: "This would be a terrific game to get three points from. I would reckon that Stirling are really targeting this game for a win and a move closer to us in the table.
"It is not a last chance for them in any way but we will be facing a side determined to beat us. We have to handle that and look to do enough to win."
