Palermo vs Napoli preview - Callejon expecting three-point haul

Napoli winger Jose Callejon fully expects his side to pick up the three points against Palermo on Saturday - if they can reproduce the performance they put in against Udinese.

Napoli downed Udinese 3-1 last time out to record their fourth successive league win and keep the pressure up on second-placed Roma, with the two clubs now separated by just four points.

Although Roma will feel confident of recording a victory when they host rock-bottom Parma this weekend, Callejon is convinced that Napoli will not lose any ground if they continue to play as they have been doing.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "We are now closer to Roma in the standings.

"We are going through a good spell and we want to keep this going for as long as possible.

"We know that on Saturday we have a difficult game at Palermo.

"I believe that if we play with the same intensity that we displayed against Udinese, then we will bring home three points."

The win over Udinese lifted Napoli seven points clear of rival Champions League hopefuls Fiorentina and Sampdoria.

However, Napoli coach Rafael Benitez has warned his players there is no room for complacency.

"We haven't achieved anything yet," he said. " Wins give you confidence but there are still a lot of games left to play.

"While we might be focusing on Roma, other rivals are looking at us to catch us in the standings.

"We have a good advantage in order to finish third (and earn the last Champions League qualifying spot) but this doesn't mean that it's ours already."

A win at the Renzo Barbera stadium would be a big boost in confidence for Napoli ahead of next week's Europa League last 32 meeting at Trabzonspor.

Palermo, meanwhile, have won just one of their last five league games but are unbeaten at home since September 26.

Last weekend's 3-0 defeat at Inter Milan dropped the Sicilian outfit to ninth in the standings and was the first time they had failed to find the back of the net in a match since October 26.

The hosts will be without defender Giancarlo Gonzalez, who is suspended.

Napoli winger Dries Mertens will not feature this weekend as he serves a one-match ban.
