Manchester City will need to pay £40m to land Porto’s midfield star Yacine Brahimi, according to reports from talkSPORT.
The 25-year-old shone at the World Cup with Algeria over the summer, earning a move to the Portuguese giants from Granada.
And he has maintained that form with Porto, which is believed to have attracted interest from City.
The Sky Blues have recently raided the Estadio do Dragao for top players such as Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando, and reports claim that they’re willing to pay another £33m for Brahimi.
Yet Porto are not ready to accept such a sum and are instead holding out for £40m.
The Portuguese giants are known for their tough negotiating stance and have sold big name players in the past for major fees – including now Man United striker Radamel Falcao.
Brahimi was born in France and represented them at youth level before electing to pursue his senior career with Algeria.
