Burton vs AFC Wimbledon preview - Burton wait on Blyth

Burton will check on Jacob Blyth ahead of the visit of AFC Wimbledon.

The on-loan Leicester striker suffered what appeared to be a thigh injury and was carried from the field on a stretcher late on in the win at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was already without Dean Lyness (broken leg), Stefan Maletic (hamstring), Kelvin Maynard (hip), Matty Palmer (knee) and Jimmy Phillips (knee) at Whaddon Road so he will have his fingers crossed that Blyth's problem is not too severe.

Recent signings Ivan Calero, Tom Naylor and Abdenasser El Khayati all made their Burton debuts as substitutes at the weekend and will be hoping to make their home bows on Tuesday night.

Wimbledon have doubts over Will Nightingale and George Francomb.

Teenage defender Nightingale had to go off at half-time during the 2-0 win over Newport on Saturday after suffering a knee injury and winger Francomb finished the game with a hamstring problem.

Jake Goodman (toe) and Jack Smith (thigh) are set to miss out again, although both are on the mend and should be back in action soon, but fellow defender Andy Frampton (ankle) is a long-term absentee.

Ade Azeez or Craig Tanner could partner Adebayo Akinfenwa up front if boss Neal Ardley opts to rest veteran striker David Connolly, who made his first start against Newport.
