Guingamp vs Monaco preview - Jardim defends Monaco tactics

Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim insists his team are not defensively orientated - despite their impressive record of clean sheets this season.

Jardim's men have kept nine successive clean sheets in all competitions during the current campaign, with the last goal they conceded coming in a 1-1 Coupe de France fourth round draw at Lyon on December 17.

Ahead of the Ligue 1 match at Guingamp, Jardim told reporters: "We are not a defensive team. We always try to play forward."

The Portuguese added: "I've not seen a team play better in France than us this season."

Although Monaco lost on penalties to Bastia in the League Cup on Wednesday, they have climbed up to fifth in Ligue 1, nine points behind pacesetters Lyon.

Jardim wants his team to put the midweek setback behind them as they make the long trip in Brittany.

He said: "Now we need to recover and prepare for Guingamp. They are a good, organised team with experience.

"It is difficult to play every three days - but we must adapt and make the best choice."

Midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia could figure after two months on the sidelines.

The former Sevilla player, who has not played since injuring a thigh while warming up for the match at Rennes on November 29, is in contention for a return.

Their hosts, 11 points and six places adrift of the visitors, will provide decent opposition.

Guingamp have won their last four home games - with title hopefuls Paris St Germain among the victims.
