Sevilla goalkeeper Beto has been ruled out for at least 10 weeks as a result of the shoulder injury sustained at Real Madrid in midweek.
The 32-year-old Portuguese was carried from the pitch on a stretcher following a collision with Real striker Karim Benzema during the first half of the Primera Division contest at the Bernabeu, which ended in a 2-1 win for the home side.
Sevilla's official website confirmed: "b b Beto has been diagnosed with a grade three dislocation in the left shoulder.
"The injury probably requires surgery and, as a result, he faces an approximate period of rehabilitation of at least 10 weeks."
The news adds to Unai Emery's injury headache ahead of the match at Getafe.
Forward Jose Antonio Reyes (hamstring) and defender Benoit Tremoulinas (knee) are again expected to miss out, while Kevin Gameiro (groin), Sebastian Cristoforo (knee), Nicolas Pareja and Piotr Trochowski (knee) did not figure in midweek.
Sergio Rico stepped in in place of Beto for the remainder of Wednesday's match - and he is expected to play for the Champions League hopefuls on Sunday.
Opponents Getafe have won only one of their last 11 league games, a run of form which leaves them just two points above the drop zone.
However, boss Quique Sanchez Flores is staying relaxed ahead of the home game, believing his team have what it takes to escape the clutches of relegation.
The 50-year-old told the Spanish media: "We've trained well. It's been a good week of work. We're still not at the level I want, but we are gradually getting there.
"It is also true that my team are training to a good level, a level which actually makes me calm and fully confident that we will achieve our goals."
However, he is aware their fourth-placed opponents pack a punch, adding: "They have great players who are dangerous. We know it will be difficult."
