York City 0 - 2 Dagenham and Redbridge - Cureton at the double to down York

Evergreen striker Jamie Cureton bagged a brace as Dagenham won 2-0 at fellow strugglers York.

The 39-year-old former Norwich and Bristol Rovers forward produced stylish finishes in both halves to leave York still searching for their first win in 2015.

Cureton netted in the 19th minute after he rode a challenge from Keith Lowe having raced on to a Billy Bingham pass through the left channel.

He then curled a confident shot into Bobby Olejnik's bottom right-hand corner from 10 yards and only an excellent last-ditch tackle by home left-back Malvind Bennning prevented Alex Jakubiak adding a second before the break.

Cureton, though, was back on the scoresheet in the 53rd minute, latching on to centre-back Ayo Obileye's lofted forward ball before producing a perfectly-measured lob over Olejnik.

Dagenham might have added a third but Olejnik saved smartly from Jakubiak.

In response, York's best chance saw substitute Jake Hyde's header cleared off the line.
