Doncaster Rovers 0 - 2 Walsall - Hiwula on target for Saddlers

On-loan striker Jordy Hiwula grabbed a goal on his debut as Walsall claimed a fourth consecutive away victory with a 2-0 win at Doncaster.

Hiwula's strike came against the run of play in the 70th minute after Rovers had dominated in a bid to overturn a half-time deficit.

Walsall, unbeaten in their last seven away games, made a flying start when they snatched the lead in the third minute.

Jordan Cook hooked the ball home at the near post in opportunist style following a well-placed corner from Anthony Forde.

Andy Butler had a tremendous header well saved and Dean Furman saw another effort cleared off the line as Rovers tried hard to hit back.

The home side began the second half with all guns blazing and Uche Ikpeazu twice went close to grabbing an equaliser when he had a shot cleared off the line before hitting the post with a deflected 20-yarder.

But it was the Saddlers who sealed victory in the 70th minute when substitute Hiwula headed home via the post following a glaring error by Rovers' defender Reece Wabara who gifted the ball to an opponent.
