Francis Coquelin is set to stay at Arsenal for the next four years
Arsenal star Francis Coquelin has committed his future to the club after signing a contract extension with the Gunners, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
The 23-year-old's current deal in north London was due to run out in the summer, but Coquelin has now been rewarded for his impressive midfield performances for Arsenal since being recalled from his loan move at Charlton in December with a new contract.
When asked about Coquelin's future at the club, Gunners boss Wenger said on Friday: 'I'm very happy with the business we did [in the January transfer window].
'We met our targets and extended Chuba Akpom's and Coquelin's contracts.'
Although Wenger did not confirm when Coquelin's new deal would expire, French publication L'Equipe have reported the 23-year-old's extension will see him stay at the Emirates Stadium outfit until June 2019.
