Sheffield Wednesday's new signings Sergiu Bus, Marnick Vermijl and Melo Silva could all be included in their squad for the home game against Cardiff.
Striker Bus, defender Vermijl and midfielder Melo all joined on transfer deadline day, while Lewis McGugan, who returned for a second loan spell this week, is also hoping to feature.
The Owls will be without suspended skipper Glenn Loovens as he received his 10th booking of the season in last week's defeat at Reading and midfielder Jose Semedo is struggling with the toe injury that kept him out of that match.
Striker Caolan Lavery joined Chesterfield on loan this week, but boss Stuart Gray still has plenty of options up front.
Cardiff could hand debuts to their three new signings when they make the Hillsborough trip.
Russell Slade left it late before adding Everton pair Everton winger Matty Kennedy and Conor McAleny to his squad, the latter on a loan basis, as well as Chesterfield striker Eoin Doyle and the Irishman looks most likely to start.
With Scottish goalkeeper David Marshall a week away from a return having recovered from a groin injury, Simon Moore will continue in goal while Bruno Manga is back from the African Nations Cup and could make his first Championship outing of 2015.
Cardiff have taken just five points from their last nine games and are without Kagisho Dikgacoi and Anthony Pilkington once more.
