Preston boss Simon Grayson insists the club will remain patient over Joe Garner's fitness ahead of the visit of Coventry.

Garner returned from a 10-week injury lay-off against Sheffield United on Tuesday night after undergoing surgery to repair a detached tendon at the top of his shin bone.

Fellow forward Andy Little is also available for selection once more despite not making the bench in midweek as the club's striker shortage begins to ease.

However, Aston Villa loanee Callum Robinson is at least 10 days from a return to action after pulling his hamstring in training.

Coventry skipper Reda Johnson is out for a month with a small thigh muscle tear and has only played 15 times during an injury-plagued season.

Midfielder Jack Finch is struggling with a sickness bug, Danny Pugh (ankle) is out but Everton loanee Matthew Pennington has returned and is available.

New signings Blair Turgott and Middlesbrough loanee Luke Williams could make their debuts at Deepdale.

Turgott joined on a free from West Ham while Williams has penned a loan deal until the end of the season.
