Hellas Verona vs Torino preview - Quagliarella: Run will continue

Torino forward Fabio Quagliarella is confident he and his team-mates can maintain their current impressive form when they travel to Verona to face Hellas on Saturday.

The Granata go into the match inspired by a good run which has seen them avoid defeat since losing 2-1 at Juventus on November 30.

Last weekend's 5-1 triumph over high-flyers Sampdoria was their third straight Serie A win and lifted Toro to 10th place.

"After our defeat at Juve we regrouped and we realised that we had a good team and could do well," Toro's top scorer Fabio Quagliarella told the Italian press. "We have worked hard and we are being rewarded on the pitch.

"We want to continue to climb up in the standings.

"But our approach is to take it one game at a time."

Quagliarella scored a hat-trick against Samp to increase his goal tally in the league to eight.

"For a striker it's always special to score three goals in a game," the former Juve star said. "But the important thing is that we won and we gave continuity to our recent results."

Opponents Hellas lost 2-1 at Palermo last time out to drop to 14th place, four points adrift of Toro.

"We didn't deserve to lose at Palermo, a draw would have been a fair result," Hellas coach Andrea Mandorlini said. "But we now to leave this result behind us and focus on our next game.

"We need to continue to get maximum points at home even though we expect a difficult test against Torino."

Hellas have won their last two league games at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.

The hosts, who won 1-0 at Torino earlier in the season, will be without injured midfielders Mounir Obbadi and Jacopo Sala.

Toro coach Giampiero Ventura will have all of his players available, with the exception of midfielder Alessandro Gazzi, who is suspended.
