Doncaster Rovers vs Walsall preview - Rovers wait on Coppinger

James Coppinger is a doubt for Doncaster as they prepare to host Walsall.

Coppinger came off against Chesterfield last weekend with an ankle injury. Initial scans suggested there could be ligament damage, hinting at a lengthy lay-off for the veteran midfielder. However, the 34-year-old is hopeful the problem is not that severe and he has sought a second opinion.

Should Coppinger miss out he could be replaced in the team by Kyle Bennett, which is the change Rovers boss Paul Dickov made at the Proact Stadium. The likes of Dean Furman, Theo Robinson and Nathan Tyson will also be hoping for recalls.

Centre-half Rob Jones (knee) remains some way off a return from injury while Doncaster are still awaiting international clearance from the Greek FA for midfielder Abdul Razak.

Walsall top scorer Tom Bradshaw is out for up to two weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 15-goal striker could miss up to four games, starting with Saturday's trip to the Keepmoat.

It means Manchester City loanee Jordy Hiwula could make his debut after he joined on deadline day for a month.

Ashley Grimes is pushing to start after he scored his first goal for the club in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Gillingham but Sam Mantom is still sidelined with his knee injury.
