Manchester United have been urged to make a bid for Dani Alves, who is out of contract in the summer
Manchester United have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Dani Alves after the defender's agent revealed that the Brazilian is looking for a new club.
The Barcelona right-back was linked with a move to Old Trafford during the recent summer and winter transfer windows as his future at Camp Nou continues to be a source of speculation.
The Spanish side are yet to offer Alves a new deal, suggesting that he could be on his way out of the club in the summer.
Alves' contract expires at the end of the season, meaning that he could leave Barcelona on a free contract.
And his agent Dinorah Santana has suggested that interested parties should make an offer for the defender.
"They [Barca] haven't contacted us," Santana told Cadena SER. "I interpret that silence to mean they don't want Dani Alves, so we will begin searching for a new club.
"We won't wait for Barcelona, they have to take the plunge. Alves has spent seven years here and he has behaved like a professional at all times.
"Barcelona have not had a sporting director for a month and Alves is free to negotiate with any club."
The 31-year-old defender has made 16 La Liga appearances for Barcelona this season, notching up two assists for his team-mates. He has also featured five times in the Champions League.
