Walsall vs Gillingham preview - Mantom missing for Walsall
Posted Saturday, January 31, 2015 by PA
Walsall remain without Sam Mantom for the visit of Gillingham.
The midfielder is still suffering from a knee injury which has restricted him to just four games this term.
He is their only absentee following Tuesday's 0-0 draw with Preston which sent the Saddlers to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.
The game is being played at 6pm on Sunday to avoid a clash with the Bescot Sunday Market and because Gillingham were unwilling to play midweek after their Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern Area final with Bristol City was moved to Thursday.
Gillingham will welcome back loanee John Marquis for the trip.
The in-form striker was cup-tied for Thursday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie and is expected to go straight into the starting XI.
Caretaker boss Andy Hessenthaler will check up on forward Antonio German, who missed out in midweek due to a foot problem.
Amine Linganzi and Aaron Morris (both hamstring) are struggling while Joe Martin will be looking to retain his place at left-back after making his first appearance since suffering a calf injury.
