Forfar Athletic 1 - 2 Greenock Morton - Morton moving on up

Morton leapfrogged Forfar into the automatic promotion places in Scottish League One after a 2-1 victory.

The Ton started well and had two efforts cleared off the line early on as Ross Caldwell and Stefan McCluskey saw shots blocked.

But they went ahead in the 32nd minute when Joe McKee tapped in after Caldwell's header was saved by Rab Douglas.

Forfar levelled in the 66th minute when Danny Denholm latched on to Chris Templeman's long ball and coolly finished.

But the parity was short-lived as Peter McDonald restored Morton's lead with a rifled shot from 10 yards five minutes later.

Denholm hit the crossbar with the last action of the game, but Morton held on.
