Ayr Utd. 0 - 2 Dunfermline - Pars stop rot

Posted Sunday, February 01, 2015 by PA

Dunfermline won for the first time in seven league matches with a 2-0 victory at Ayr.

Second-half goals from Andy Geggan and David Hopkirk gave the Pars a first away success in League One since winning 1-0 at Ayr in October.

David Hutton had to make first-half saves to keep out headers from Andy Barrowman and Gregor Buchanan, who was denied again by the home goalkeeper early in the second half.

However, Hutton was beaten after 66 minutes when Geggan nodded in Hopkirk's cross.

Hopkirk then made sure of the victory in injury time with a low, right-foot finish to leave Ayr without a league win in a dozen games since October 18.
