Cowdenbeath could hand first starts to Colin Nish, John Herron and Robbie Buchanan against Queen of the South.

Dean Brett misses out on compassionate grounds and Sammy Stewart is also absent with a groin injury.

Manager Jimmy Nicholl said: "I am looking to freshen things up and I am delighted to have plenty of options to do so. We have done well against Queen of the South this season but no matter how our opponents are we need to start winning games."

Queen of the South have Mark Durnan back in their ranks after a ban and Ian McShane makes the trip to Fife despite transfer speculation linking him with Ross County.

Stephen McKenna and Paul Burns are included after getting game time in midweek following lengthy injuries as the Dumfries side look for their first points of the season from their hosts.

Player-manager James Fowler said: "We are due a performance against Cowdenbeath and hopefully we will put in one.

"They will battle hard, however we want to be a top-four side again and to do that we need to be winning games like this one."
