Airdrie United vs Brechin City preview - Bollan wants style and substance

Airdrie's new loan signing Liam Lindsay will be included in their squad for the home game against Brechin

Partick Thistle defender Lindsay arrived at the club this week, while fellow Jags defender Ben Richards-Everton has headed back to Firhill at the end of his five-month loan spell.

The Diamonds held leaders Stranraer 1-1 last weekend and manager Gary Bollan is looking for the same resilience, but with a touch more style.

Bollan said: "We did not play a lot of good football last weekend, but the players showed character to bounce back from losing a late goal to level.

"Brechin have done really well recently, but we defeated them earlier in the season and can do so again."

Brechin hope to complete a deal to bring Aberdeen midfielder Craig Storie to the club in time with their only absentee expected to be Callum Tapping, who has a knee injury.

Manager Ray McKinnon is looking for his side to stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games, but after losing 4-0 at the Excelsior Stadium earlier in the season he is wary of the Diamonds' threat.

McKinnon said: "There are no easy games in this league, but a whole host of difficult ones and Airdrie away is one of the most difficult.

"We know that we have to play really well to keep our unbeaten run going."
