Costa puts the boot in: Chelsea striker not punished despite DOUBLE stamp

CHELSEA failed to stamp their authority on Liverpool last night. Instead, striker Diego Costa stamped on two of their players.
Diego Costa clashed with a number of Liverpool players and appeared to deliberately stamp twice
He escaped even a booking for either – one on Emre Can, one on Martin Skrtel – from referee Michael Oliver, who also failed to award what appeared a blatant penalty when Costa was brought down by Skrtel. All this in the first half.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was convinced a penalty had been given before his expression changed to sheer incredulity when realising a goal-
kick had been awarded instead. He will blame that ‘campaign’ he so believes is in operation against Chelsea. But there was no evidence of that when Costa was left unpunished for his ugly stamps.
There was more time for Oliver to add more fuel to Mourinho’s fire, however, when he failed to send off Jordan Henderson for a second yellow card, instead awarding only a free-kick against him for handball.
