Struggling Bastia made it five games undefeated in Ligue 1 as they battled to a goalless draw against Bordeaux.
The hosts had to play the final 28 minutes with 10 men after Yannick Cahuzac was sent off for his second booking but they held on to secure a vital point.
Bastia are now three points clear of the drop zone while Bordeaux slip further back in their campaign for a European spot.
Thomas Toure had the first chance for the visitors but fired wide from distance before Cedric Carrasso had to turn away Cahuzac's curling effort at the other end.
Toure and Ryad Boudebouz then exchanged efforts but neither could hit the target in the closing stages of a cagey first half.
Toure was clearly the major threat for the visitors and just a minute after the break he capitalised on a mistake and fired on goal but Jean-Louis Leca made an impressive save.
Bordeaux clearly had their tails up and when Nicolas Maurice-Belay found Toure on a swift counter-attack, the goalkeeper was called into action again.
Bastia were struggling to get into the game but Guillaume Gillet brought a save from Carrasso on the hour before Cahuzac was handed his second yellow card for a foul on Toure.
Despite being a man short, it was Bastia who had the best chance to win the game in the closing stages as Hervin Ongenda robbed Nicolas Pallois of possession and brought an impressive save from Carrasso.
