Leaders Stranraer dropped points for the second straight League One game as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Airdrie.

The Blues were defeated by Brechin last weekend but looked set to bounce back when substitute Jon McShane headed home three minutes from time, only for the hosts to claim a share of the spoils thanks to James Lister's late leveller.

In a first half of few chances, Bryan Prunty's effort was easily dealt with by visiting keeper David Mitchell.

The best chance of the opening 45 minutes fell to home midfielder Bryan Gilfillan, who nodded over on the stroke of half-time from just six yards out.

The second period was also low on quality but the contest finally sparked into life in the 87th minute when McShane converted Christopher Atiken's corner.

However, moments later, Airdrie striker Lister nodded in himself to ensure a draw.
