Plymouth Argyle 1 : 1 Morecambe - Another injury casualty for Argyle

Injury-hit Plymouth were left to count the cost of another casualty in their 1-1 draw with Morecambe as first-choice goalkeeper Luke McCormick came off at half-time.

Reuben Reid's first-half goal had given the Pilgrims the lead but, with substitute goalkeeper James Bittner in net, Jack Redshaw claimed a share of the spoils for the Shrimps.

Plymouth took the lead just before half-time when top scorer Reuben Reid latched on to a through ball from playmaker Bobby Reid, spun his marker and rounded keeper Andreas Arestidou before slotting home his 14th goal of the season.

Morecambe could have replied almost immediately but Argyle centre-back Curtis Nelson headed Stewart Drummond's goal-bound volley to safety.

McCormick, who was injured denying Morecambe striker Padraig Amond in the first half, was replaced by Bittner for the second period and the back-upkeeper's first touch of the ball was retrieving it from the net in the 52nd minute.

Jamie Devitt's high in-swinging corner from the left was headed on at the near post by Ryan Edwards and converted at the back stick by predatory striker Redshaw.

Both managers introduced strikers from the bench to try and get the winner but that was not forthcoming.
