Real Sociedad vs Eibar preview - Moyes ready to go on the attack

Real Sociedad coach David Moyes insists he is working to improve his side's deficiencies in attack and hopes the changes will come to fruition with the visit of Basque neighbours Eibar.

Moyes suffered his first home defeat in charge of Real Sociedad last weekend as Rayo Vallecano left Anoeta with all three points thanks to Manucho's late winner.

It left Moyes with a worrying total of 10 points from eight games since succeeding sacked coach Jagoba Arrasate - two wins, four draws and two defeats.

Of particular concern to the former Manchester United manager is his team's lack of attacking firepower, with the team scoring less than a goal per game under the Glaswegian.

"We have to create more chances," admitted Moyes in his pre-match press conference, broadcast on the club's official website.

"We are doing well in defence and we are working hard to improve our attack. We also have to improve our overall play and our results in the second half of the season. But the players are in good spirits and convinced they can do that. They have been training very well this week but now they have to prove themselves in the game."

Eibar stunned La Real on the opening day of this season by winning 1-0 at Ipurua in the club's first ever game in the Primera Division and sit eighth place in the table, having taken eight more points than La Real this term.

Moyes is one of many admirers of Gaizka Garitano's high achievers.

"I've been up to Ipurua and I've seen videos of them. I congratulate them on what they have done in the last few seasons, but I'm focused on Real Sociedad," he said.

"We are prepared for the game and looking forward to making up for the last match."

Moyes was without either of his two right-backs Carlos Martinez or Joseba Zaldua for the defeat to Rayo due to injury but is hopeful the former will be fit again to face Eibar, and also hopes to welcome back Markel Bergara from injury.

Eibar have no injury concerns but will be without suspended defender Raul Navas, and Italian striker Federico Piovaccari is also suspended after getting sent off in the 1-1 draw at Cordoba last week.
