Brighton & Hove Albion vs Ipswich preview - Injury concerns compound Dunk ban

Posted Tuesday, January 20, 2015 by PA

Brighton will be without Lewis Dunk through suspension and have injury concerns over three other players for the visit of Ipswich.

Defender Dunk serves a one-match ban after his red card against Brentford on Saturday while Craig Mackail-Smith, Greg Halford and Jake Forster-Caskey picked up knocks during the 1-0 defeat.

Striker Mackail-Smith has an ankle problem, utility man Halford a calf knock and midfielder Forster-Caskey a hip injury. All three will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Kazenga LuaLua (knee) and Dale Stephens (ankle) are making good progress but will not be ready to return, while Andrew Crofts (cruciate) remains a long-term absentee.

Ipswich have added veteran goalkeeper Paddy Kenny to their squad.

The 36-year-old former Sheffield United, QPR and Leeds keeper has moved from Bolton on a four-month contract and will provide competition for Bartosz Bialkowski after Dean Gerken was sidelined by a hip injury.

Luke Hyam (knee), Teddy Bishop and Cole Skuse (both illness) are doubts after missing Saturday's win at Millwall.

But David McGoldrick could return to the squad after sustaining a knock in last week's FA Cup defeat to Southampton.
