Real Madrid ready world-record bid for Man United keeper David de Gea

Real Madrid are ready to make a world-record bid for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Real are confi dent of landing De Gea despite United's determination to keep him.

United are also understood to value their coveted keeper at £50m with the current record fee for a stopper the £33m paid by Juventus to Parma for Gianluigi Buffon 14 years ago.

De Gea's move to United from Atletico Madrid four years ago for £18m is the British record.

United don't want to lose him, but significantly now have a ready-made replacement in Victor Valdes, 33.

The former Barcelona No.1, who played under United boss Louis van Gaal at the Nou Camp, signed an Old Trafford contract this month.

Spanish sources have told the Daily Star Sunday that Real see De Gea, 24, as the successor to Iker Casillas.

And one influential source said: “De Gea will be at Real Madrid next season."

As United have discovered in the past, particularly with Cristiano Ronaldo, Real have a habit of getting their man.

Juventus, meanwhile, are eyeing Radamel Falcao's situation at United.

If the on-loan striker's stint at Old Trafford fails to become a permanent deal and he returns to Monaco, Juve will make a summer move for the Colombian.
