Atletico de Madrid vs Granada CF preview - Granada travel without Caparros

Primera Division bottom side Granada travel to the Spanish capital to face Atletico Madrid on Sunday, but will do so without manager Joaquin Caparros.
Wednesday's 4-0 Copa del Rey defeat at Sevilla proved to be the final straw for the Granada board, which sacked Caparros on Friday afternoon and placed assistant coach Joseba Aguado in temporary charge.
A statement on the club's official website said: "Granada Football Club reports that Joaquin Caparros has been relieved of his activity as coach of the first team.
"As of this afternoon, assistant coach Joseba Aguado will temporarily take the reins of the first team for their match against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon Stadium, before a new coach joins."
The midweek defeat at the hands of Unai Emery's side was the latest in a long line of disappointing results for Granada, who have not won a league match in 14 attempts.
Prior to the announcement of Caparros' sacking, Granada moved to bolster their attacking options by signing Valencia winger Robert on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old will be charged with the task of helping to improve upon Granada's miserable record of just 11 goals in 18 league games to date, which has seen them slump to the bottom of La Liga standings, currently two points from safety.
While it cannot get much worse for Granada, Atleti are riding high after knocking city rivals and holders Real out of the Copa del Rey on Thursday.
Their progression was made all the more sweeter by the fact that Fernando Torres scored both of their goals in the 2-2 second-leg draw, which set up a quarter-final tie against Barcelona.
Torres struck in the first minute of each half against Carlo Ancelotti's men to register his first goals since he returned to the Vicente Calderon after an eight-year absence.
Diego Simeone's side go into Sunday's home encounter in third place, trailing league leaders Real by four points and second-placed Barcelona, who beat them 3-1 in their last La Liga game, by three.
The Argentinian boss is thrilled with how Torres, who left the club to join Liverpool in 2007, has settled back into life with Los Rojiblancos.
"I am very happy for him and for all the people who went to meet the Calderon the other day (at his official unveiling)," Simeone told his club's website after Thursday's match at the Bernabeu.
"People are much happier and certainly his arrival, at least so far, is doing well."
