Tranmere Rovers 3 - 0 Accrington Stanley: Donnelly at the double for Rovers

Rory Donnelly's first goals for Tranmere helped Rovers move out of the League Two relegation zone after they defeated Accrington 3-0 at Prenton Park.

Donnelly, on loan from Swansea, scored either side of a Shamir Fenelon strike as Rovers comfortably took all three points.

The hosts took the lead 12 minutes in, when Donnelly clinically converted a low right-wing Fenelon cross.

Eleven minutes later Tranmere went two up, when Rob Taylor made a positive run on the left and his cross broke nicely for Fenelon who smashed home.

A mistake by Michael Ihiekwe presented Sean Maguire with a chance to pull one back for the visitors but Owain Fon Williams saved at the striker's feet.

Rovers should have made it three before half time when Fenelon broke free and delivered a low cross but Kayode Odejayi could not convert.

Tranmere scored their third just before the hour mark when Odejayi found Donnelly in the box who stroked home his second before Rovers then comfortably saw the game out.
