Colchester United 0 : 2 Walsall - Luckless U's in deep trouble

Colchester's relegation fears deepened when they were beaten 2-0 by Walsall for a fifth successive home league defeat.
Colchester almost took a first-minute lead when Walsall goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell denied Sanchez Watt.
The U's went even closer to scoring four minutes later through Sammie Szmodics, who raced through on goal only to be foiled by O'Donnell.
Walsall's Jordan Cook clattered the woodwork from a tight angle and the Saddlers took the lead just after the half-hour mark through Anthony Forde, who headed in unmarked from Cook's cross.
Szmodics and Elliott Hewitt both went close for the hosts after half-time and Colchester went even closer to equalising just after the hour-mark when Alex Wynter's header from Kaspars Gorkss' cross clattered the crossbar.
Szmodics fired straight at O'Donnell but after Cook had gone close, Michael Cain wrapped up Walsall's victory with 15 minutes remaining when he tapped home Tom Bradshaw's low cross from close range.
